Dear Bros and sifus,

With the amount of cash and the available car, what would you do to have a total make over for that car ? Priority is given to whole car body spray, rims & tyres and a major suspension works, then only to engine performance.

I'm no good into modification, and a year away from this country.....I'm lost in the automotive market. Thus, I need a serious help here. If i were to transplant engine, what would it be advisable ? I just need a car which handles well, can let me cut through the city around with a nice acceleration and of course, with a good fuel economy in mind.

regards,
CKSiow

transplant GSR and smoke other wira 9 9....

or stay stock standard, put in ICE and go for autoshow....

the 8K you got will not be enough to transplant a GSR in there. not if you change all consumables like timing belt, water pump, new engine oil spark plugs boost meter turbo timer brake pads and installation cost. hahaha...unless you want to just buy halfcut and pasang and wait for the engine to die itself.

8K? hmm...

new coat of paint 1.5K
rims + tyres 15" : assumption lah.. 1.5K if new lah with decent tyres.

left you with 5K.

CD player, amp, subwoofer, component set all ok ok ones lah + installation 2K.

new coilovers, or new absorbers stock both cost the same nowadays. 1K.

2K left.

1K for major service (maybe change timing belt, water pump, service, bla bla bla and other consumables just in case)

and left you with 1K to pour petrol, jalan jalan with your GF and then spend her for a romantic evening in a nice restaurant somewhere out of your town (if you in kl, go to melaka or ipoh or penang if you want...)

and the rest...save it lor...heheheh...

think about this..
looking so good but being so slow?

to me i put performance 1st..

so go with the GSR turbo.

so what would you think that 8K is enough for our friend here to plonk in a 4G93?

Just put ICE aside as i got some extra parts from my previous mods in my other ride.

Just work on the handling first. What type / brand of suspension should i shop after ? And will the new engine i drop into the car affects the ride ?

Recently i heard something like [FONT=&quot]stabilizer bars that places at the engine hood and at the boot, years ago some rumors saying that's useless. Please enlighten me.

I seeking for a firm ride but not to compensate too much of comfort.

yeap.... get a nice set of rims + tyres and a good suspension first.... this will make ur car looks nice.... if some money left, upgrade ur engine performance a little... this should compensate the power reduction after changing to bigger rims...

for me... i'll put part of it for repair and up keep of the engine... repray the car and send the car for interior cleaning... get a set of sport rim and new tyres... get a set of new absober and eibach spring... then get a moderate ice for the car... then u can travel with a nice sporty look 1.6 wira and enjoy some music while travelling with it... :)

cheers

body spray rm1.5k
titan absorbers rm2.8k
full engine overhaul rm2k(including change driveshaft, lower arm, bushes, brakepads etc)
new tires+new rims rm1.6k
so u get a car that looks new, drives like a new car, reliable and save fuel. and most important of all, stock standard, no problems with authority.

1.6 stock is quite nice already. not so underpowered.

1. use high performance plug cable
2. install stromberg power booster
3. install I-FC ver 1.2
4. Install I-VS
5. Install AGC
6. install Germany BS4

all these will cost u RM775 only. it wil be more powerful than when it is new provided the current engine is in tip top condition. i can do all these for u. it will take around 30 minutes to complete.

what's all that? can increase gain how much hp ah?

i never dyno after instal it. but for sure it is not as much power increase as installing turbo kits.
after install it, the fuel quality is "mini supercharged", spark firing is heavily improved, and electrical flow is enhanced and stabilized.
i m now in KL. we can meet in damansara utama to tick talk about these products. i can show it 2 u too.
call me at 012-4904888 if u r interested. tq.

  har har har 1.6 and 8k..
repair radiator-done
major overhaul- install high cam, replace valve cover gasket, readjust valve tappet
repair/replace throttle body
standby- repair gearbox
replace rear shocks
repaint body

OR
change engine/halfcuts- 1.8 na or 1.6 mivec.. since i travel a lot, turbo is not in my list (pohkai uuwwaaa!!)

OR
trade in- buy satria neo or honda civic vtec auto yr98.. and mod it, har har

life is great rite :emoticon_U: :emoticon_U:

Thanks for all replies, sorry for slow response due to poor connectivity i got here.

Well, basically I wanna prepare a ride nicely before I come out to "Society University". So, right now I still don't know how far would i be traveling with my car everyday. Still job-hunting.

The Wira is actually inherited from my brother, so interior need no major works. Just on the exterior and peformance would be more concerned. Alternatively, I got the choice to choose a KIA Sephia to be modded.

As for engine, was contemplating to transplant a 1.6Mivec or a 1.8 Putra engine. I'm still not so convinced with the GSR engine as I don't have much faith on turbo (reliability wise).Hope to have more comments and feed-backs. Which would be wiser ? I don't need a monster, but i would enjoy a throttle responsive car something like the 1.7 VTEC Civic would do fine.

For the handling wise, I think i shall play with the stabilizer bars first. Later only i shall change the shocks / coil-overs. Mod step by step to learn and feel what each individual component contributes.

Dude... i tot u like to play ICE? ICE first priority ma.. then upgrade the handling of da car like stabilizer bars...rims... or better... cabut all ur ICE from ur present car put in wira la wakakakak

YESH~~~ i think u know who am i rite? hahahha

Throttle responsive as the 1.7 VTEC Civic eh.....like that RM8K I will get the 4G93 1.8 NA/4G92 DOHC 1.6 non MIVEC then the rest of the money go for handling and etc :)

If can spent more a bit, go for the 1.6 MIVEC....recommended :)

if i had a 1.6 4g92p, and an 8k, i would do these..

titan suspensions = rm2.8k (including installation and 2years warranty)
ultra racing 4point front and 3 point rear struts = rm360 (including installation)
ultra racing 3point fender bar = rm 230 (including installation)
ultra racing 19mm rear antiroll bar = rm290 (excluding installation)
yokohama avs sport (assuming u have a 15inch rim) = rm960 (240each)

of these 4 things.. u get superb handling i can say.. and can outrun most powerfull cars with cheap tyres on roundbouts or winding roads.

that leaves you with rm3360. . lets look at some safety upgrades.

pro rs steel-braided brake hose = rm 270
dot 4 brake fluid = rm50
performance brake pads (front only) around rm 150 (including installation of the 2)

throttle response,
4-2-1 powerzone extractor= rm340 including installation
1.78inch inside diameter stainless steal piping = rm200

go for the best open pod airfilters, i would suggest a bmc-style from racecraft would do the job, as its not so noisy. considering your big pocket..

racecraft bmc style air filter with cai = rm450 excluding installation.
u could easily do a diy on installation but a minor mod to rearrange the battery due to the size of the big 'barrel' type airfilter.

now whats left is rm1900.

if you really want more performance,.. visit powerzone and have ur cams regrind. will cost u rm1300 but u'll gain serious HPs

then u'll be left with rm600 to fill that tank while hammering on the throttle for 1-2 weeks while ur still excited bout ur new upgrade.. heh..

all i can say from these listed upgrades. you'll be getting superb handling for n NA and quite fast throttle response with balance braking performance

some of those upgrades i did already.. so pm me if wanna ask anything. can also get u those places to install some of those upgrades mentioned above.
