No it’s not a radio-controlled replica made by the boffins at Nismo, it’s a super-hardcore track-ready version of the Nissan GT-R designed to endure the brutal paint-swapping of the world’s most gruelling races.

Unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Salon, the meticulous folks at Nismo went through the car to remove every bit of unnecessary weight and replace it with the equipment to bring it up to par for the top-flight races that it will run in.

The list of modifications include the usual suspects of brakes capable of bringing the universe to a halt, a full race-ready roll cage and a stiffened up suspension system. The roll cage welded in includes an onboard pneumatic air jack system to raise the car during stops and a larger racing fuel cell to stay out on track longer.

Aero wise, the front bumper features more air ducts and carbon fiber bits while the wheels have been traded in for forged single piece rollers wrapped in sticky semi-slick rubbers. Out back is a carbon fiber spoiler to increase down force. The weight saving game continues on the inside as well with manual window-winders in place to get rid of the heavy power window motors.

Just in case you were still having doubts, the RC stands for ‘Racing Competition.’

It would be better if it came with the VK56DE V8 engine like the FIA GT1-spec GTR *drools*

The 2011 EOS can be thought of as an early preview version of where future VW convertibles are heading. Namely, the 2012 Golf Cabriolet. This 2011 sequel to the, almost 5-year old EOS may be a facelift, but it's got a new GTI DNA, stronger and most of all, looks pretty good.

New EOS vs Old EOS

 • 10bhp extra making 210bhp
 • Improved styling
 • Shift paddles
 • Golf steering, shift...
