Silencer...

recently i came across a SpecR mag.. There's a Skyline R33 with TOMEI engine transplant in... It's exhaust system was fitted with a silencer.. Will it restrict the exhaust gas flow??

Some forumers said it wont.. some says yes..
which 1 ar??
can someone explain to me??
i'm dumb la ... wht to do...

from my own experience, i use a detachable silencer on my muffler.. if i put silencer, my boost kick in faster, torque also improve, but top speed not really syok......
but if u dont use silencer, its the other way around....

my silencer make the exit hole/diameter smaller, but the gas flows faster...
without would make the gas flow easier but slower.... thats how i see it la...

is it the same for NA cars??
cause know la... NA cars the exhaustion not so fast as turbo...

the silencing is due to sound that bounce back from the silencer surface cancels out the on coming sound. :)
