I propose we have a regular lunch meeting at Kayu Nasi Kandar in ss2 (next to Chow Yang)the last Sunday of each month at say 12.30pm for our informal club gatherings. This place has good ("clean") mamak food and is well priced. They also have banana leaf meal and of course Nasi Kandar.

Once we have a good group of regulars attending me might have our club HQ in a converted bangalow in Jalan Universiti (opposite the Universiti Hospital).

Who can come for Sunday 31st July? Can you make it SK?

I have been informed that weekends are family day. So I propose that we meet on the last Thursday night of each month.

I suggest we start with Tuesday week, 26th July, then after that Thursdays. Post up your thoughts / comments.

Extreme park sounds good to me.. Dev, aren't u a heap, cosmopolitan Bangsar pubs & cafe dweller?? Still can't get over ur headlamps..

How about ppl coming up with more suggestions and we vote for it? Not many of us here though.. Selection criteria has to be

1. Ample parking space with meeting place having a clear view of our cars, yes we are anal about that and owning an RX is like an obssession. Can't take my eyes off u..

2. Nice, reasonable priced food & drinks. I wouldn't mind 'stinge' on beer and save it for my High Octane unleaded fuel guzzler...

3. Place with CHICKS CHICKS CHICKSSSS!! Don't know how many of u here are married but thats definitely not a constrain if ur driving such cars.. Hope no wives reading this...

Feel free to add in.. haha.

Ok I'm up for Extreme Park..definitely loads of parking. Hoping to get better food this time round i think last time I had a 'road kill' burger!

Lots of chicks...yep sounds good, its also ok (for the married fellas) so long as we only window shop & don't buy!

Confirmed then?

Tuesday 26th July it is then. Can we then sit down and take a vote on future meeting venue and days?

Compression Test readings / explanation

According to the Mazda workshop manual you should have the following readings (as listed below) on both front & rear rotors if your engine is in excellent condition (as far as compression goes).

You should get Ah Choi to test using the digital meter as this measures at 250rpm only to ensure accuracy & consistency of the compression test.

YOUR ENGINE NEEDS TO BE WARMED UP (I.E. AT RUNNING TEMP) & THEN STOPPED TO DO THE TEST - TESTING COLD MEANS NOTHING.

Remove the circuit opening relay & igniter connector then insert tester into trailing plug hole. Crank the engine until readings are displayed.

His tester will display 3 readings per rotor which coincides with the 3 faces of each rotor. Generally the higher the compression readings the stronger the motor is / easier starting & the stronger exhaust gases pulsate the turbo = faster / greater pull.

Good condition = 7.0kgf/cm2 (690kPa / 100psi)

max difference between front & rear rotors (i.e. difference between the highest & lowest readings) should be no more than...

Max difference = 1.5kgf/cm2 (150kPa / 21psi)

If you're engine shows above 5.0kgf/cm2 then it will run reasonably well, although if below this level it may have trouble starting and/or idling smoothly (assuming all other accessory items are running correctly).
