If there was ever a driver that took the road less paved, Kimi Raikkonen would be it. The Finn has contested in more types of racing than most of the top tier drivers around these days. Following his foray into Formula One, he soon made a name for himself with his ice cool driving, earning him the name Iceman.

However, after winning the world title with Ferrari, he got bored of it and decided to get a little dirtier by jumping into the World Rally Championship with his Red Bull sponsored Citroen DS3.

Now, with the mud and gravel of rallying having gotten a little mundane, Raikkonen will be switching to the continuous left-turning of NASCAR with the entry level Camping World Truck Series.

Raikkonen has just confirmed his contract with Kyle Busch Motorsports and he will be piloting the truck pictured above at this week’s race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The number 15 Toyota Tundra will be raced under Kimi’s own team, Ice1Racing, and will be sponsored by Perky Jerky, the ‘official jerky of the Daytona 500.’ The dried meat snack contains guarana in it, a plant that has twice the amount of caffeine in it than coffee. Apparently, it was invented when some guys spilled energy drink on their jerky while stuck on a ski lift. It would be a perfect fit for his Red Bull sponsorship then, all that energy it’s bound to give him.

Kimi's just choosing the path that brings the most excitement to him. Not many people do that. And I respect him for that. He's a great driver nonetheless.
