Pirelli may have secured the exclusive contract to provide Formula One teams with tyres for the coming season but reports suggest they may have followed that by joining the ever increasing exodus from the World Rally Championship.

Having been the official tyre supplier to the WRC for the past three years, the tyre manufacturer was expected to continue even though it secured the F1 contract. Reports however indicate that the deadline for submitting a tender to renew the WRC contract has past without a bid from the Italians.

The reports claim that the volatility of the WRC regulations didn’t go down too easy with Pirelli, hence their withdrawal. It’s looking bleak for the top tier of world rallying at the moment, with not just the car manufacturers abandoning ship but suppliers pulling the plug as well.

'(00): Usually, after drooling over the latest JDMs in jap mags and videos it'll generally take about 2 years for a used, grey-import to arrive here. Which we're all used to. What we have here today is a R35 GTR Spec-V. Currently, the most advanced Nissan GTR out there equipped with a boost trigger for a quick shove on the back
