hi guys, my kembara is eating more fuel this time around. It's very strange.
I've gone 300km on a full tank but now, my tank is almost empty and it's only 150km.
have any ideas??

I recently change my spark plugs and used iridium spark plugs and change the spark plug cable to high performance 9.8mm cable.
and also installed a volt stabilizer.
I thought it can save fuel more.

bro, ur car is auto or manual?
have u do some modification? like change exhaust or change hi flow air filter?
r u use big rim or large tyers?
ur engine still gd condition or not?

it's automatic.
I didn't change the extractor so it's still stock.
erm, currently using basic 15 inch rims and tires only.
my engine is in good condition I suppose, have to change the mounting though because it shakes a lot.

if yr kembara is the previous batch without the Dvvt...then the FC is terribly high coz its lack of power and full time 4wd......

it's the one before DVVT, yeah I understand that its underpowerd and full-time 4WD, but even with that I lost 30km after I change the spark plug and everything.
so I'm wondering why only.

mybe u using wrong grade off sprak plug! too cooler plug u use i think!
try change new air filter, gear oil n use grade no5 plug

I'm currently using the new DENSO Iridium Spark Plugs. No.20 something like that lar, supposed to be more powerful than No.16, not sure how to explain.
yeah, I think gear oil also I have to check. Air filter? think I should change sports air filter?

allance, what you mean too cooler spark plug??

friend u shouldn't use IK20 !!!!!!! U shud use back the 2 side electrode 1 !! Because it is knows for its type of air swirling in the engine n need a 2 head plug to complete its burning !!! Try ask for NGK 1. The denso IK20 only fit for DVVT engines !! If possible us lower viscosity rating engine oil like 10w/40

really ar? iridium spark plugs will spoil the car?? aiyo..
IK20 can fit in my engine wor.

i have try DENSO iridium plug b4, the power lose than b4 compare with stock plug!
the cooler plug is just 4 high compression n turbo engine use! normally NA engine use no5 cooler plug , if denso is IK16=no5 (IK20=no6 cooler) try use NGK plantinum BRK5 is better than DENSO plug, my friend have try denso plug for wish ...he say is fxxking plug , his car got high FC than b4.

dont change high flow air filter u will lose big power at low mid torque, n FC olso get hi, if u dont belive u try get out ur air filter n try drive, u will feel ur pickup no power! so use stock air filter is better!

call or sms me if u want more infor , get my fon no on ur PM:biggrin:

so I should use IK16 if Denso?? my friend sell denso so I can get better price from him. change back to 16? I hope I can sell him my spark plug back haha:) it's still brand new. less than a month old.

try use NGK R plantinum BRK5 more cheaper !
DENSO IK16 n IK20 no more big diffrence olso can use for NA engine, what the bad is plug design not gd

ur plug u can keep it since it won't spoil n have to expiring date. For best result u MUST get back the 2 headed NGK plug. When i'm back at home this fri i try to post the no of the plug ....

sifus. there is something I would like to ask. the real reason why my FC is high is because of my engine. it's over revving. 3000 rpm at only 80km/h
I know there is definitely something wrong with it. there are a few theories. the gear or the engine. which one do you guys think is the real problem?

Its a very common thing my friend, even the DVVT batch Kembara does 100 arnd 100 kph ....
It's build in such a way for rough terrain but not high way use !! U can try look for a wider ratio of final drive.

hhmm, but I've asked a mechanic who's actually an automobile engineer. and he said that it's the gear because the clutches inside it are probably overdue because it was poorly maintained. and another mechanic also suggested that's it's the gear. he's also an automobile engineer. but instead of just gear theories, he said it could be the engine as the sensors are out.

DVVT does a 100 at 100kph? whaddya mean?

Eh bro sorry typo mistake !! I was meaning that Kembara DVVT was actually running around 3500 rpm @ 100kph. U're running a A/T drive or M/T drive ? By the i too a soon to become Auto Engineer !

it's A/T drive. but according to 1 who also drives an auto kembara, she did 140 at 3000rpm. which is a big difference. I was quite shocked. haha:)
oh you also going to be an automobile engineer?? cool wey. can ask you all the questions.
