Ferrari has made it clear that its machines get hand-me-downs from its Formula One programme and the 458 Italia probably has the most influence from the manufacturer's top tier motorsports involvement.

The 458 Italia had more high-tech gadgetry packed into it than its predecessors and the most exciting bit was how Ferrari managed to fit almost all of the car’s controls onto the steering wheel, much like its Formula One sibling. The indicator switches, windshield wipers, high-beam, horn, engine start button, Manettino dial, suspension de-coupling, gearshift paddles, audio control and track selection system were all on the steering wheel.

Throw in the two displays that sandwich the rev-counter and it could prove to be a little more than the average driver can handle. That’s why Ferrari has released this video to explain to 458 Italia owners on the different controls, settings and dials on the steering wheel.

Who knows, this might come in handy the day a distant relative with a penchant for supercars kicks the bucket and leaves his 458 Italia to you, as well as his harem of porn star wives.

:) Hi there,

Was wondering where do you buy those heat shielded coils, something that looks like aluminium foils...

i.e. those used for exhaust, extractor, to actually protect overheating of the components, or to keep cool...

saw some turbo cars with those, but dunno where to get.... anyone?
