That is vague question.. depends on the torque the engine makes and how much rpm it can pull.

If one of those B16As can somehow make more torque (at wheel) at 6-8K than others at 7-9K rpm with 4.785, it can be an upset.

But B16A will feel lighter with a gearbox with 4.785 for sure.

agree with shiro, but i would guess either A or B. It also depend on the launch skill, traction etc....

Wanted to attach my excel file for gearing calculation... but post do not accept excel file.... so you can only see in word but cannot use lor....

If you know the gear and rpm and speed, can guess if the car has changed the FD...

If the gear box on the floor , can put into 1,2,3,4 gear and turn the clutch turns versus 1 complete drive shaft turn...

Just my 2 cents...

Hehe.. Mine is no where so complex as gearcalc, but shows most of the information required.. this is the revised edition since the last one I posted last year. A few additions since then.

You need to know how to interpret the chart though, but I guess most can guess after they play with it a while.

I think E-tech will find it very fun to play with. Nice work with yours, but speed loss from playing with gears not apparent there, nor does how shifting one ratio affects the next gear.

So far, I've done up to getting estimations of rev drop per shift, tire expansion correction (I am still trying to make a fully scaling tire expansion correction, but currently no way to measure them in real life yet.)

XLS in zip file. This is actually a portion of the complete worksheet.

cannot say for sure.. like said above.. depends on torque at the wheel. if it makes the most torque at the wheel at 6-8K, then shifting at 9K may actually give slower times.

if you have good torque at 7-9K, can play with higher final drives to get more torque at the wheels.

The higher the RPM, the wider the gear ratio becomes, thats why at a certain point, need to use custom ratios. You can see this from the chart when you play with my gear calculator.

You can put in spoon gear ratios and see why the ratio is like that, and what happens when you use it in an 11,000 rpm engine. Compare what happens when you use the stock ratios in an 11,000 rpm car.

yep.. real battle required.. mana tau.. one of the B16A is a paku'ed B18C :P

Lots of factors.. can only estimate, but real life test always better..

I have wira 1.5 carb(already p&p,extractor&full piping,air filter).this week need to change the clutch set.Paraut or exedy.
dilemma wan to change with 1.6 or 1.8 -for pickup.
sapa2 yg pernah tukar,I need some suggestion.
1. 1.6 clutch with 1.5 f/wheel-need to mod (skim how kg?)
2. 1.6 clutch with 1.6 f/w (skim how kg?)
3. 1.8 wira clutch with 1.8 f/w-supertouring (skim how kg?)
4. Difference weight 1.5,1.6 and 1.8 f/wheel?
above item can fit...
