is it possible to remove the CV joint from the drive shaft without taking the whole shaft out from the transmission?

the last time i did this DIY, I took the whole shaft out. now, i have to change the gaiter (CV boot/cover) again, i wonder if the CV joint can be removed while maintaining the shaft in the transmission. it'd make the work easier and there wont be any loss of transmission fluid.

anybody knows the answer? is it possible?

Hi,

I'm trying to change the timing belt for my Iswara. I have removed the alternator belt and the air-con belt. Now, i'm stuck at removing the pulley which is connected to the crankshaft. It is located at the lowest part of the engine. I need to remove this pulley in order to remove the cover of the timing belt.

Thanks.
