Its sad man.

Think the thieves are getting out of hand man. And don't expect the police to do something about it as they don't make money out of it and got to write report... 1 advice.. Park at the good spots ya. If going to shopping complexes, suggest you park at the valet spots.( Of course park it yourself!) and just pay the guy. May be 10rm but I think its the peace of mind thats really important.

Don't bribe the police.

Hey... Think that the thieves are getting out of hand because the police are not doing anything. They just want bribes. So the thing is don't bribe them. Pay the fines and make them do their jobs like they're supposed to man.

too bad...

Sorry for your lost....I am sure you did love your car as much I do mine...Anyway, just to let you know of an incident happened in my condo 2 years back.

A car was stolen, cant really remember what car. The owner sued the management and the owner won the case. The management had to pay the guy the full market value of the car, as you should know, on normal practise, insurers will pay a maximum of 85% of the market value of your car, provided your insured value is more than that.

Now, the management have CCTV all over and also they actually sort of monitor the drivers coming in and out of the premise. They will also stop new faces they see coming into the condo. It is not really fool-proof but it is better than nothing.

I strongly believe that you should sue the management of your apartment as they actually collect maintenance fee which includes the security. Why should you pay for security if your properties is not secured.

They talk much, bring them to court and sue them for more. You can and your argument should be that you want them to make an example of your case so that they be more serious in the future.

If in the event they have been brought to court before for the same case, the best bet is to make them pay and get them fired. As you know as the residents of apartments, you can form up a community and sack your current management and appoint new ones.

I guess I have been helpful in this matter.

Cheers..... :)

I lost my GTi recently as well. Also go steering lock and normal alarm only. I lost my car a one utama parking lot, and same case... the gaurd all not around. They don;t seem to have their CCTV on at all...

Anyways, have you managed to find any new on your car? I am trying to llok for mine.

I think if you want to find your car.... go to merdeka race... half the satria's entered are probably stolen!

To everyone that ever concern about this topic,

Thank you all. I finally get this matter settled. Insurance has settle the amount to me. Thus, kudos to the insurance company, PanGlobal. They get everything settle in 5 months time, which at least earlier than expected. These staff inside there really do follow-up for me and sort of thing and not to mention friendly as well. Ppl out there been talking bad bout hardness of claiming insurance or sort of thing, but this did not happen to me. This never happen to me as well during my accident 2 yrs back. Process all been good. I would strongly recommend PanGlobal. Maybe im juct lucky not to face those delaying kind of thind. But however, sometimes i believe car owner is the ppl who delaying the process by pending document. If document submitted accordingly, i don think delay issue will occur.

And for those who are driving highly targetted car out there, becareful when u park your car. Avoid parking in secluded area and NEVER EVER put valuable stuff inside the car nakedly, even just a office bag. My cousin got his car window smashed few weeks back in hartamas and the only thing the person took is office bag which contains documents. Loss in cash is not much but the troublesome to get everything back in place such as fixing the car is not pleasing at all.

hanjin,
sorry to hear about your loss too. Well, this is life... this is malaysia... anything can happen.

Maybe this is the way they did it..........

Nowaday ppl are really want to cope with good lifestyle.
So they are willing to do anything to gain money , legal or illegally.
IMHO maybe most of the THIEVES using duplicated key.
How?.. well so many way...

1. Maybe by car dealer. They duplicate your car key b4 handed to you.
2.By guy at car wash.During this washing process , you give them the key to
move your car.Duplicate key.
3.Guy at accessory shop. Duplicate key also.
4.Workshop.During repair ur car.

So be careful when handed your car key in whatever thing you do.
They have your key and car reg. no., so just contact their link and straight away
know where you live....:)
Just final step will finish their job.
So i suggest you do a secret switch and without turn on that swith, even they have
a key still cannot start your engine unless they come wif towing ....
They have a limited time to steal your car, so if time is overlimit, then they will go away...hope so..

Rgds,

p/s:glad live in small CT....:D

putra's sgti's are super hot proton cars. if its lost for more than 2 weeks, there is a big chance that it is already stripped. at least you have your insurance claims.

but i think it is appropriate to take more action against the security of the condo's and such. today it might be your sgti what if a few months down the road your brand new vios is stolen (since so many vios around, there is a demand for parts) and to know that we pay money monthly for services that aren't much of use.

we can't depend on the police they. they even have cars being stolen from the police station on a high profile case. if statistic matters to the police, they would have done something.

but private paid security. thats another thing. you pay monthly maintainence fees. and you live in paranoid state (not the way it suppose to work). check the S&P and find a lawyer to advice (if its winable case, im sure they take it). if not go to the residents rep and get them to acknowledge things and get them to the high management.

just my 2 cents

Guys... 2+++ years passed since my car WJG3949 gone missing and my current car also more than 2years+++ oredi.

but anyway, kolpak, this car has been recovered. In fact it was recovered at the same time i got the money from insurance. Thus, insurance have the car now. im not sure who own the car now, or even probably insurance oredi resell the car.

i have few frens saw the car on the road oredi. When they recovered the car 2 years ago, my fren manage to catch a glimpse at the car in police station. It was modified. bigger rims, bigger exhaust etc etc even even my pillow still inside the car. According to the police, the car was caught during a street race. bad luck for the thief.

not really le. its "supposedly" 'voluntary' scrap. which mean if the owner wants to do it. but that plan cannot work because in malaysia the cars costs too much (its too expensive).
