Alonso was pretty humble and kept to himself, that is till he started winning regularly and getting all the media hype. Then he started acting like a bit of a dick and a clown.

but he earned his respect, and now he expects same.

I admit he's a pretty flamboyant driver during his Renault days. He does all sort of silly things after winning races and it pisses me off actually.

However, since joining Mclaren, he's kinda toned down quite a lot. He's so much more appropriate and you can see his appearance is more decent. I think Ron Dennis specifically tells his drivers to behave themselves and not run into any publicity problems. Plus, Alonso spots a clean haircut with no goatee, unlike his Renault days where he used to have long locks with a goatee.
