whats ya EGT reading?

Hi guys.My ride is a S15 spec R stock. I get about 5.5 - 6.2 cruising at 100km/h...and reaching 7.1 during overtaking n hard acceleration....is this normal or am i running too lean at speeds above 100kmh? I'll be making a virgin drive frm KUL - PEN during christmas and I ponder if im in safe parameters to do long D trips with such EGT readings...thanks for any inputs..

That depends where you have your EGT probe. If 7.1 means 710c on a hard run, you are actually running rich. Well tuned turbocars should have an EGT of 800 to 850c at peak boost. Assuming EGT probe is before turbo. If after Turbo 710c is about ok.

my egt probe is screwed on the turbo itself. it does not come in contact wif the actual e gas, just a ring u screw on ur turbo. came as a feature for my lonza turbo timer so its great value hahah.

cruising i usually get around 250c....hard hiway runs around 350c

must be way off...hahaha
