“Why did the chicken cross the road?” has got to be one of the oldest jokes in the book, and is not much of a challenge since there is only one chicken involved. But what if one were to change the chicken to ducks and take it up a notch to, let’s say, 5000? Then you will get the same havoc of what a farmer had caused in the streets of China every year.

Down at the Zhejiang province in China, a farmer only identified as Hong has brought the streets of the eastern city of Taizhou to a standstill as he takes out his army of 5000 ducks to an annual tradition of pilgrimage to a pond situated at almost 1km away from his farm. The purpose of this epic march was not clearly stated (could be for feeding, breeding, etc.) but the amazing part is that he executes this massive maneuver armed with only a cane, and has the help of only from an assistant.

Though it might seem as a nuisance at first, the citizens of the 6-million people city are already accustomed to this migration, and even stopped their vehicles to let the ducks past by. And during this long walk, Hong claimed that he did not lose even one duck along the way. Sounds pretty easy, but it does not look so from another video taken also in China, but probably from some other farmer.
