We still await the arrival of the third generation Volkswagen Beetle over here and while we do admit the retro bug is very much reminiscent of our yester-years, we still can’t help but cringe at the thought of having to wait any longer. Especially when a slew of ‘bug’ variants are popping up here and there!
<!--more-->The German automaker looks to launch the new convertible ‘bug’ at this year’s LA Auto Show within the coming months, and upon said launch – it will be going even more retro.
Apparently, there will be three special edition launches, which will pay tribute to three different decades (in particular the 1950s, 60s and 70s) and may include decade-specific designs from white-walled tyres, seat upholstery and unique colours.
We can’t begin to imagine how VW will be infusing the days of the hippies during the colourful “Make love - not war” of the 1970s, which was strife with sex, drugs and rock and roll! Peace man.
