Subaru will be getting their own version of the Toyota FT-86 rear-wheel drive coupe and have released the first official photos of their version of the collaboration ahead of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week.

While Subaru were sneaky and provided a photo with an outline of just the front end’s silhouette, some Photoshop wands were waved over it at CarScoop and managed to filter out the rest of the coupe’s lines in more detail.

The most noticeable thing is how it differs from its Toyota sibling with a curvier and less angular design. While originally speculated to some with Subaru’s trademark all-wheel drive system, the coupe will in fact be retained as a rear-wheel drive with the engine up front.

Motivation will be courtesy of Subaru’s boxer trickery with a 2-liter turbocharged mill expected to pump around 260-270hp, more than sufficient for some fun in what would surely be a nimble handler.

The Toyota version will also be unveiled at Geneva and only then will we get the official specs and pricing of both versions.
