How was the event?
TDjanLey & Gary Lee in the stupendous R3 Gen2 RallyCar finished 1st in Class 5 and 2nd Overall. lack of top speed due to ultra short ratios meant bouncing off the limiter on stages that mainly consisted of long long straights

That's morbid. Why would you wanna see pixs of cars on it's roof

haha.. yala.. no time to take other pics.. thats about it. car was in 5th gear, 8,000 RPM flat out for most of the stages. lacking in top speed.

at service park with the fantastic R3 race crew!!

Where's the other rally pics? Subaru or Evo ada tak? Would love to see these cars. Or just Proton cars?

hehehe actually love the crashes in rally...

sometimes the crashes are cause by technical error n a lil bit of human failure....
if u got a video should be nice though at least i can learn something...
btw nice pixs.. love the gen2 pretty simple n got the aggressive looks...

this gen2 is running 4g93p right? not campro engine....correct me if i'm wrong

Besides Proton cars, did any Hartge cars take part? Since they are co-sponsors of the event. Would love to see a Hartge Mini Cooper S taking the course.

Any idea when the Gen2 will be homologated for competition? Is the Group N Satria homologation extended beyond 2004 or is the Gen2 supposed to replace it?

no hartge cars took part.
those cars cost more than 4 times the price of the gen2. ;)

not sure about the new proton car homologation. but from what i've heard, the grp N homo. for satria has expired already. the only proton that still qualifies for group N is the wira 1.6.

also, the proton pert cars are still homologated i think.

another proton still homologated - the satria 1.3 but too underpowered for rallying la

sadly the proton satria 1.6 homologation already expired... the R3 ppl dont care much about it. the wira homologation is taken cared by EON and they took the trouble to extend the wira homologation for the humble privateers...

the biggest misconception people get is that R3 is proton which it is not. it runs independently, with its own engineers, development team, and testing team. It does not "manufacture" cars, but improves on cars already manufactured by proton. Mainly in the area of performance tuning, to a certain extent, styling.

Homologation can only be controlled by the manufacturer. EON has no power to do so, but proton can contract EON or even someone like WRC motorsports to do the job. but the final say comes from Proton. So if R3 wants to do it, they will still need proton's blessing to go ahead.

ok, R3 is not proton, so i wonder who is really in charge of proton motorsport affairs then...

maybe then ppl at large and all the newbies like me out there will be much more clearer ...

i would believe homologation issues are still decided by the outright manufacturer. i have no idea what the inner makings of proton are like and whats their corporate structure. but i do know that R3 do not control those issues.
