Nowadays, whenever there's an accident, cars will easily burns up. Does it have any connections with Ron95? Is there evidence that Ron95 is more flammable as compared to Ron97?

Can any professional in this field provide some clarifications and clear the myth?

i think its more related to the engine design rather then the petrol...for example front-engine transversely-mounted/front-wheel drive

nowadays i seen most of the front-wheel drive engine intake system(throttle body, intake manifold, fuel rail, injector) were in front while exhaust was facing the firewall & last time it was terbalik means intake system at the back, exhaust in front...

so when badly accident happen, the fuel hose/rail are prone to get crush...when crush, the petrol leak out & contact with the engine heat+oxygen=FIRE...hehe

don't have dis issue when RON92 still around... and it's more readily to burn than RON95

my friend kancil turbo involved in a frontal accident..... and he's using RON95... although it's totaled... the car does not burn....

...but then, another friend's kancil 1000cc running RON97 involved in a minor sideway accident and his engine mysteriously set aflame...

....it's not the RON that a factor... but multiple.....

if ron95 more flammable then ron97... then better use ron95 laa.. why use ron 97.. so in my opinion... type of ron is not the matter the accident car easily burns up...

Octane rating does not relate to the energy content of the fuel (see heating value). It is only a measure of the fuel's tendency to burn in a controlled manner, rather than exploding in an uncontrolled manner. Where octane is raised by blending in ethanol, energy content per volume is reduced.

taken from Octane rating - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia@@AMEPARAM@@/wiki/File:Gas_Station_Pump_Five_Octane_Ratings.jpg" class="image"><img alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/0f/Gas_Station_Pump_Five_Octane_Ratings.jpg/280px-Gas_Station_Pump_Five_Octane_Ratings.jpg"@@AMEPARAM@@commons/thumb/0/0f/Gas_Station_Pump_Five_Octane_Ratings.jpg/280px-Gas_Station_Pump_Five_Octane_Ratings.jpg

the more the fuel is readily burnable, the more the engine is susceptible to engine knocking... using RON97, you can tune your ignition to advance more to produce lean burn... more power for less fuel....
