Basically the tyres usually is cheaper then the rims and tyres are always being changed, rims not necessary, so protect the rims is more vital....

Guess only my case is the rims are cheaper than my tyres

Interesting but the bright colors would not suite my car and they're too expensive. I'd rather just buy wider tires with rim protector like what I'm using now.

Just wider tyres loh! If you really love huge rim protector on the tyres look at Yokohama S-Drive tyres...

Many modern tires now have like extra thickness of rubber just after the edge of the rim which is designed to add extra protection to the rim. It's especially more apparent on lower profile tires as that's when they're most needed.

At RM570 per set, you will be worrying about it being stolen as well. The car, wheel and tyre are supposed to protect us drivers from mishap but now look like thing is reversed, people so love their cars that they are willing spend whatever to protect the parts that protect them.
