Looks like most FS fare worst then SS and Mineral oil? Like Total FS and SS, the SS seems so much cleaner. Even Bardahl is clean and oil is quite cheap in spare part shops. BP FS also fare worse then their SS oil?

Yes surprisingly many FS looks very bad, even the damn expensive so called ester based like the Motul 300V! Maybe ester based is BS all a long?!Yeah Bardahl was one of the surprising ones.....clean oil

The BP Visco 5000 looks far better than the Visco 7000. BP is same group with Castrol.
BP bought over Castrol if not mistaken......Yes surprisingly many FS looks very bad, even the damn expensive so called ester based like the Motul 300V! Maybe ester based is BS all a long?!

A search brought up some other threads in other auto forums and a bunch of youtube videos showing how the test was performed. It looks simple enough, heating up the oils to 400C for around an hour........
