dextron III ATF to a dextron II ATF car?

post this in car talk but nobody can answer, so trying my luck here.

can anyone tell me can i put dextron III ATF to my car, which inside car manual mention to use dextron II? what's the different in between these 2 ATF? mineral and synthetic? got any dextron II synthetic ATF in the market?

yes..if ur car original is using dextron II, u can use either dextron II or III.

if ur car is using dextron III, then u must use only dextron III. no dextron II.

dextron II normaly is for older version AT Box, newer AT Box which hv circuit board inside hv to use Dextron III.

summary, dextron III is better coz it wont hv any electric contact. coz if u use dextron II in new type trans. some said the wires inside wil get 'short-circuit'. so dextron III hv to be use.
