You sure. But Renault came out and say the drive shaft broke.

If indeed a wheel nut came out, shouldn't the tyre be rolling out of the car when he was cornering or something.

Nah, initially they thought it was the drive shaft. After investigation, it was proven to be the wheel nut, which didn't come out properly when they made the tyre change and was subsequently damaged. So when they put it back on, it wasn't on properly either.
