well, on the replacement plates, im still waiting for all of the fruits to be harvested first ... then can start ordering

No worries. THAT sound has been there since day 1 I used the clutch. It's been 7 years now and I don't recall dropping/leaving anything behind on the road.
 
Sifu, just wanna know any shop at Sunway sell Nismo big operating cylinder? (for BNR34)

and is there any twin plates on the market that wont rattle the gearbox?

Bro, no worry of the sound. tHis afternoon I went to collect my Orc clutch, I gt ask them about this problem. The mechanic said this is normal to all the twin clutch. If u want quiet clutch, go for single clutch but it won't last especially to GTR.
 
wah...what orc did u get?

1st i'm looking for ORC P659D metal twin clutch, then after listen to few senior suggestion, I go back to P559D bcoz of driveability. At least P559D not completely button type like P659D.

Lemon demon, sure~ btw, anyone do change the Rear oil main seal? I hvt plan to install the clutch yet until I collect the nismo cylinder and reinforced clutch line. Is better to change the seal once tranny box take out?

Btw, any place can find aftermarket clutch line? Like ORC, Nismo or APP? Gonna change the whole clutch system in 1 shot if can....

So I have taken out my tranny to replace the bearing at first the firt place but I found that the clutch is almost at it's time. Been using stock clutch (I own a stock caf if ur wonder) but maybe I should get some twin plate or triple plate for power rise in the future.

So far HKS GD Pro is everyones choices bt I would like to know others as well like ogura, nismo and OS giken... In terms of.. Anything included price would be better lol..

Also if anyone is letting their clutch thats left maybe 70-90% please let ms know :)

Stock car? Depends on how far you intend to go but I'd say invest in a twin plate. It will be suitable for both mild upgrades (400hp range) and a moderate upgrades (500-600hp). Don't bother with a triple plate especially if you've got a Getrag and want it to last. A lot of people use twin plates up to 700hp although they don't last as long obviously so if you intend on going down this route look at clutches where replacement parts are easily available for a price you can live with.

You can't expect us to unanimously agree on one particular clutch as we all have different clutches with different power and different driving styles. Not to mention some drive daily some don't. Loving or hating a clutch is slightly more than driving round the block - it's living with it day in day out. I think that we just end up getting used to what we have and after awhile you don't even give it a second thought.

Lastly, I'd advise against buying a used clutch if you can find the funds to buy a new one. Since they are wear and tear items you're definitely not going to find one with 90% left on it. Unless you buy a second hand twin and get new plates or something. Has the clutch been slipping or are you just looking at its condition? Since it's out worth getting done to save labor costs.

Im just looking at its condition and realise that its time for the clutch to go. Also no point to take the tranny out for the second time (its not easy anyway) so i have decided to go for a clutch change. My fund is limited however thats why i was thinking maybe i should get a used clutch :(

There's someone selling an ORC triple plate clutch here for RM2500. I've seen the plates with my eyes and they look almost new!

Try looking over at the market place section.

I've just sold my Nismo twin plate clutch for cheap :bawling: plates are quite worn but some experienced dudes who drove my car (without my permission! But I'm not too worried :biggrin:) say that it's a very nice clutch to drive - better than HKS or OS.

We're talking 650hp at the wheels? Assuming 20% drivetrain loss you're building an approximately 800hp engine in the near future. I've managed to get away with twin plate but mine was 70hp less and clutch lasts about 1.5 to 2 years. But I don't do track days and I don't think there are any twin plates which could cope with 800hp on the track.

I don't mean to pry but if your car is stock and your funds as you say limited, how much do you reckon you'd need to spend to get the power level you're after? Don't take this the wrong way, I'm just curious.

Btw, if you do go for 650atw then the engine won't be stock so during rebuild can always swap in an upgraded clutch.

Yeah I was just going to comment on this. Even 600hp at the engine is tough going and where everything really needs to be up to scratch. Otherwise it's not long before engine failure occurs.
It also involves quite a lot of money to be spent...easily above RM20k I reckon, if you start from a stock rb26.

I know this will be controversial, but the rb26 is not a 2jz larrriiiiiiiiii :burnout:
