Hi guys,

How many of you that own Protons, namely Satrias or Satria GTIs have had to change your wheel bearings before?

I am currently experience symptoms of worn out wheel bearings but whenever i send it to the shop there are no problems probably because the bearings haven't been heated up to where they start to display problems that i've been experiencing.

Problems:

Steering wheel judders when turning left on hard cornering.
Feels like the right front wheel is slightly loose.
Car feels vague and unsafe.
Horrible rotational noise coming from right front wheel.

I have checked the brakes, it's not that and i've had the disc checked and it's not that either.

Any help will be appreciated.

change front wheel bearing both side will cost around rm120.rear wheel bearing will cost around 40-50 each.
price may vary due to location...(i change my bearing here in seremban)...

check your drive shaft inner and outer joint too...

My car only when turning hard left, can hear some loose metal noise coming from (what seems like) the right wheel. hhmm....

if the wheel bearing worn off, probably when moving sure got the "aeroplane sound", go more faster the sound will be more louder.

try 2 jack ypur car up and try to move your car wheel left right and up down. If the wheel is moving (lose) or something like that means that your bearing had worn out. Try 2 see where is the moving part. If moving part is from the lower and upper arm means that your arm bush had worn out. Do see clearly...
