Steering Vibrating.HELP !

Hey my friends,
I have a question that i hope you guys can help me with :

My EK 4 door's steering will start vibrating when i reach a speed of 120 KM/H +. This has only start happening after i changed my rims from 14" to 17" and changed my stock springs to Sport springs.

What can possibly be the problem?Last time my steering never shakes or vibrates even at 160 KM/H + . Is there something wrong with my car?Or is it normal after changing to more rigid springs and lower profile tyres,and i shouldnt worry about it? Please help !

14"-->17"?did u opt 4 d "cone" in d 17"?it helps 2 stabilise d huge rims @ high speed.wat cone u say?go bek 2 d tyre shop n they'll guide u properly.did u do on-wheel balancing?no?get it done.usually 17" require dis.dun worry.nothg wrong w ur car.

Thanks for the reply bro.Whats the "cone" you are referring to mean?I just went to the rim shop and installed a set of 17" rims and new tyres. I did wheel balancing and alignment just yesterday but the steering still vibrates at high speeds.

Must i buy this "cone" seperately or what? What exactly is the "cone" ? Lol..thanks again =)

it fits @ d back of d rim's centre hole so d fitting btween d rims n ur car's knuckle it tighter.hence less vibration @ high speed.any tyre shop shud haf dis but kinda pricey tho.min oso RM80 per piece.u can fit fronts only if ur on a tight budget.balancing did on d normal machine w d rims n tyres off d car,right?sumtimes not accurate 1 ler..ask 4 on-wheel balancing.

erm...u did the balancing off ur car or on ur car...
if on wheel balancing...its very accurate 1...wont vibrate anymore...
but unless ur rim dented edi loh

I did balancing with the wheels still on car, and i just bought the rims like 2 days ago. How can it be dented ?How do i ask for this "Cone" thing? Is the proper name for this device called "cone" ?

Does everyone who upgrades to 17" rims use this "cone" ?


Also,is there a possibly that sometimes upgrading to 17" rims and sport springs can be worse for the car since it affects the balance and aerodynamics ?
