Hi,

Does anyone know what the smallest wheel I can fit on an airtrek is? Obviously the factory wheels are 16s, but will any 15s fit?

maybe...depend on wheel design that needed to clear the brake caliper....

I want to do some beach driving trips so the bigger profile tyre I can fit the better.

I believed the stock 2 pot calipers on Airtrek may fit 15". The front caliper is the same in Evo 1-3 and these Evos used 15" last time I think. You can just borrow a 15" rim and try it out.

But why? Changing to smaller rims and higher profile tyres, still will be same diameter?

maybe due to shape, as lower profile tyre tends to have squarish cross-cut shape...

Yeah, a higher profile tyre you can deflate more to get greater surface area when running on sand/dirt
