260E huh?

My dad owns one. Fully converted to masterpiece. it's a six cylinder 24 valver. Smooth and powerful. Will update U on sale. Metallic gold. Abs but no airbags. Very comfortable. is it urgent? It's essentially a 260E but rebadged as E220 so don be deceived.

Please contact me : 012 3240018 (Din). Anyway, I dont think 260 has a 24V engine. 24 valve is for 300 and above for the W124. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Guys, please call me as I need to conclude my shopping as soon as possible.

it is 24

Just to put things into perspective la. the 260E, 280E and 300E all have 24 valves. all share the same engine blueprint just that bore and stroke is different hence the difference in engine diplacement. Plus, all of the 3 engines are straight six cylinder engines. Only 200E and 230E have 4 cylinder 16 valvers. If I'm not mistaken the 200E shares the same engine as 190E. But my dad bought the rebadged 260E(E220) cos his frens told him 230 was underpowered. I can't imagine 200E! Such a heavy chassis with so small engine.

mmm. so far through my research, I just knew that some 300E has 24v and 260 definitely a 12v. The later version of 124 might be having the 24v. I’m interested to view your car and wanted to know your price. Please arrange it as soon as possible as I’m going to conclude my shopping next few days. Please call me

24v

This is one of the comment from expert ....................

Well..the 300E is considered the top W124 model when the series was first launched in 1985. The difference between the 260E and 300E is mainly in the trim and engine. The 2.6L gives you 177bhp while the 3.0L gives about 197bhp. The 3.0L lump was also employed in the W126 series - 300SE/SEL.
The 300E-24 was first seen in the late 80s- early 90s. The engine head was done by Cosworth Engineering. Fitted with twin cam and 4V/cyl, this engine was the most powerful in the W124 series giving nearly 231bhp until the advent of 500E (326bhp) and the US only 400E. The 300E-24 and its coupe twin 300CE-24 has a more sophisticated suspension system and it is one piece type. If you encounter problems with any part of the suspension you have to replace the whole thing! Unlike the rest of W124, which can have its suspension parts be replaced one part at a time. The best 300E-24 or 300CE-24 is the Sportline series. This entails the badging of 'Sportline' on the flanks and on the gear knobs. Most 'Sportline' versions have the 5spd auto opton first used in the SL series. Worth hunting but even overseas I came across only 2 Sportlines in my life. It is very rare.

A little help guys

As my dad and I cannot come to reach a conclusion over the selling price, I need you guys to give your very honest opinion on the price, these are the details....

Mercedes 260E rebadged as E220 masterpiece. Abs no airbags. Interior fabric. Original Mercedes Rims with Michelin Energy tyres. Engine has just been retuned and is quite smooth and powerful. Year 92-94.Straight six cylinder engine. Overall condition is good. No fancy ICE though. Sunroof. 4 power windows. I hope to get a selling price of minimum 55k to 65k. It's negotiable. Please give an honest opinion. Thanks ppl.
