Hi Kikaider

What kind of lap timer are you looking at?

Is it special stopwatches design specifically for timing your lap time? If this is what you want you can get from UK specialist mail order company. Buy the brand Fastime 14. It can measure 500 laps with average lap time, fastest time, slowest time and many more function. It is very reliable as I have two units for 3 years now. its about GBP35.00.

If you are looking at the beacon and display type where you mount the beacon or sensor on the pit wall with the display in the car to show you your lap time then I suppose the cheapest is to go for Demon Tweeks Lap timer which either can record 100 or 200 laps. But it is a hassle to align the beacon and the in-car sensor to give you consistent timing. It is about GBP200.00 including postage to Malaysia. I have a used unit where I used for MME this year and I may sell it if the price is right. Give me an offer if you interested.

The Fastime 14 type have to manually press start/stop. The consistancy is based on how well you estimate the start/stop line is and how fast you can click it.
The beacon one should be more consistant right?? Why is it a hassle to allign the beacon and the in car sensor?? Is there a display unit for the pitwall as well, or is it just incar display?
