Small budget = dun mod
BIG budget = EVO
Power wise = EVO
Reliability = which ever lower mileage
Toughness = EVO (GSR very delicate)

if you have the budget... EVO1 + full overhaul....
Since its a wira... the EVO will do great... if its a satria... then perhaps the GSR would perform better on track... but this is a wira we're talking about ma. =Þ EVO straight only... full overhaul then u won't have to worry about reliability. Handling can be improved in many ways on a wira even with the heavy engine under the hood.

If u have bigger budget... then drop in VR4 block and oversized pistons... VR4's block stronger. But then the evo oil cooler adapter won't fit... then u'll need to find for VR4's oil cooler adapter.

GSR and EVO how to compare...
1.8 litre small turbo vs 2.0 litre big turbo... hahaha =Þ

bro
1st thing b4 u convert u must make sure that ur car able to convert to evo 2.0
if not after u done all ur conversion and cant get approval then u wil waste ur money
choosing either evo or gsr is depend on urself
if u wan power then evo la
if u juz wan to play a turbo engine then u juz take gsr coz maintenance is cheaper than evo
furthermore gsr can hybrid wif mivec silinder head so can become mivec turbo

ermmm...im thinking of taking EVO cos there is a runner who can do the convertion succesful by getting it endorsed from JPJ...but have to spend more la..after i calculated, it cost abt the same if i take a EVO or GSR RS(the thing abt GSR RS, not easy to get)...

Guys, do u think its possible? 1.5 to 2.0... i know its the rules now, but the runner memang so confident and willing to cut his hands off(to make me believe) if tak lepas...
guys, who have done a EVO 2.0 to a proton lately?any prob?can it be done?

Thanks man..cheerz

hi..

use both before.. a GSR in wira 1.5 and an EVO in putra... currently riding in MIVEC..

from my point of view..
GSR can never be EVO...

so for pure satisfaction.. go for EVO..
for GSR to be like EVO... not so economical... unless u have unlimited $$$ to spend...
summore, wif current h/cut price... if i'm not mistaken GSR is more expensive than EVO...

for realibility issue... i think shouldn't be too much problem... overhaul then shoud be OK...

about the registration..
very tricky... have to deal wif JPJ and blood-sucker runner...
can't give comments as i don hav problem endorsing the converted engine..

gud luck to u

Actually in my honest opinion, I agree with evo3, there's no such thing as GSR RS. The GSR that comes with bigger intercooler came from the Mitsu Libero.

gsrTurbo9166,
I disagree with what u said. =Þ GSR and EVO maintanence is the same. Fuel consumption difference only. But by the time you mod a GSR up to EVO's power standards, the FC is going to be WORSE than an EVO.
And if u go for a mivec turbo... that one, nobody can't beat its maintanence lar.... even if u run a standalone engine management, its reliability is bad and maintanence is going to really hurt the wallet. =Þ

The only issue is about it being a 2.0... as to whether or not the registration can still be done. Sure there's lots of talk this runner can, that runner can... personally, i've never seen/heard anyone who's done it lately.

S1997,
Now how do u think mitsu used evo on lancer bodies to win championships? hehehe... =Þ Handling wise on a wira is fine... on a satria, a bit susah... coz' the weight not very balanced... satria no backside mar, so like almost 70-80% of the weight is at the front. Satria will understeer significantly more compared to a wira.

GSR engine not that heavy, so on a satria it handles significantly better. But on a wira, it'll feel a bit more sluggish compared to a satria due to the weight difference. =Þ

Hope this info helps!

hi..

handling wise..
GSR in wira.. for me quiet nice... in terms of weight distribution... u have heavy front (not so heavy actually..)... the rest, up to u how to mod it.. the suspension setup, chasis re-inforcement etc.. etc... but like others said... GSR in satria should be fine.. in wira... like there's 'something' missing..

Evo in putra... ur car easily flying... powerful engine in lighter chasis (compared to wira chasis... correct me if i'm wrong)... pure satisfaction..
heavy front + correct suspension setup = ultimate driving experience ( close to ultimate actually... own a BMW, then its ultimate )

as for wira..
heavy front + heavier chasis.. should be fine & should be fun
