The Forza Racing series has proven to be an equal, if not better, alternative to the Gran Turismo franchise and the fourth chapter in the sim racing series will available later this year. Apart from mind-blowing graphics an endless list of super-exotica machines to choose from, the biggest advantage Forza 4 will pack over GT5 has to be the integration of Kinect functionality for the Xbox 360.
Kinect allows the console to recognize the player’s physical movements, not just the movements of the controller. This means that the player can interact with the game without a controller. Users will be able to drive the cars in Forza 4 just by putting their hands in the 10 and 2 o’clock positions and moving them like they were holding a steering wheel. Furthermore, players can even turn their heads to look into corners and the view on the screen will follow accordingly.
This brings sim racing to a whole new level that just a couple of years ago would have seemed absurd. Out of the track, Kinect allows you to walk around the parked vehicle and push the buttons on the dashboard.
There’s nothing quite like it and honestly, we would take an Xbox 360 for Christmas over January Jones in a Santarina outfit.
