fastest time we've done is a 2:33 flat... will be trying to push that even more next year.
we all know how hard it is to shave the seconds off..

the specs of the car all conform to MSS regulation..
so its still 1.6 and runs the tiny 60mm TB...
because of the competitive nature of MSS (i personally think it shits all over any FIA sactioned club race) where you can basically do anything you like within those limits... you find that every one pushes those engines to the limit.. everyone has a different way of doing things...

i doubt the owner will be happy with me revealing what parts have been used but i can say that the engine is B16A and runs off the shelf engine block internals which you can buy from alot of your 'xin ka lan' aftermarket suppliers. The cylinder head is where most of the magic happens with custom grind cams and valve train components. Contrary to what most people think.. we still run Vtec..
gearbox is standard with close ratios and a cusco LSD.

the car makes 210whp @ 10,000rpm with 18kgm of torque from 4500 all the way till 10,000rpm

most of you would reckon i'm bullshitting with the parts list... but let me just say that reliable parts are important (i've seen alot of people use the exact same parts as we use) but are not key in making power. The guys at GT know how to build a mean engine and thats what makes the power.

ECU is autronic SM4
the car also runs full datalogging with motec ADL that logs all chassis, engine and soon aerodynamic parameters. Again contrary to popular belief.. the data is analyzed closely with the driver and the GT team.. not some mat salleh.

Suspension has been replaced with custom GT auto parts with special rodends that make the car adjustable in all areas including caster, centre of gravity and load transfer to name a few.
Shocks are custom adjustable Aragosta with special spring rates.

the secret weapon is of course an understanding owner and driver who had the balls to trust us and do whatever we suggested he do..besides being able to drive. Thanks KPC!

so there you have it.. nothing special really..
what makes a winning car is teamwork and good communication. everyone works together to solve the problem.. throw in some passion.. alot of blood sweat and tears.. alot of blown engines.. broken suspension..broken gearboxes and broken hearts... and you end up with a winning car.

lol... i don't work for GT if thats what you mean. the guys at GT have cars coming out of their ears and don;t even have the time of day to scratch their arse let alone come on a forum.

GTauto race cars (racing team or motorsports division.. if you like.. (toby at GT would laugh if he heard me say this)) are built by a collective of people not necessarily involved in the auto industry.
You could say its a group of really passionate people trying to do something special, we're about bringing together individual skills which are useless alone but are strong together.
GT is awesome at building engines and they have the facilities.. one guy is good at manufacturing the parts we need.. another guy does the the set up.. etc

if you really want a 200whp engine.. go speak to GT.. they're more in the know about engines than me:biggrin:

i am driving the putra with vr4 220....wat the problem for my car now is the check engine light will appear, when the light appear, the car will starting "chok". i have send the car to 2 workshop and change the air flow sensor, ecu, wiring, plug cable, plug and coil.....after all this thing done still facing the same problem......have anyone have the experience will this or do you know where got the speacialist for vr4........thank for help!
