The newly updated Accord is being thrown its own photography exhibition by Honda Malaysia. Dubbed 'The journey of Ambition,' the nationwide tour will showcase photographic images of the Accord across its eight generations that were captured through the lenses of three local photographers.

“The Accord has an illustrious history that spans across 35 years, during which it has grown into a global car with a legacy of awards and innovations,” said Yoichiro Ueno, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Malaysia.

The exhibition kicked off at the One Utama Shopping Center on 20 April and will make its next stop at Bangsar Village in Kuala Lumpur from 11-15 May before moving on to the Empire Shopping Gallery in Subang Jaya from 25-29 May. The final stop on its tour will be at Tebrau City in Johor Bahru from 21-26 June.

Part of the preparation for the showcase involved procuring seven of the previous generation of Accords and then refurbishing them to photographic standard. They were then shot by Darren Chang, an automobile photographer and owner of country's most advanced automotive photography studio, Ashraf Lee, a self-taught photographer and Patrick Yap, a music video and still photography director.

“The exhibition is an ambitious undertaking on its own. Searching the country for owners of seven generations of Accord was just one of the requisites, not to mention the extensive vehicles refurbishment task. As such, we hope it will delight Accord enthusiasts and excite like-minded customers whose ambitions and aspirations for success drive them to greater achievements in life,” said Ueno.

The exhibition itself will have a first generation Accord, restored to showroom condition, as well as a current 2011 model on display together with the photographs.

“It is amazing to see how the Accord evolved from the first generation to the current through a camera lens. I was particularly intrigued by the first and 2011 models which marked the journey of Honda engineers in every conceptual and technical way you can imagine,” said Chang.

The exhibition is opened from 10am to 10pm daily during touring dates and at locations stated. Customers can also visit all authorised Honda showrooms nearby to view and test-drive the 2011 Accord.
