Ya is a sad sad world for K-Car owners like us. Tyre manufacturers no look up to us small cars
PP2 adi discontinued. Even if can find, can only pray that it is not that old. I think if 3 years old still can buy if it can last about 2 years.

Threadwear is 240 if not wrong, but then seems the thread left still a lot in my kelisa coming close to 2 years. Sometimes only whack corners but not hardcore kind of whack

But K Sports that one is just sports pattern, not really semi slick.
In the wet should be okay gua.

LOL! This one just stated by vr2turbo once before. How can a tyre have semi slick pattern and not a semi slick?

30-40 is quite slow and since your tyres are new, it can't be. What is the year of the tyre? If corner + sudden hard breaking on wet, is possible to skid. Cuz rear tyres will lock, then when is wet, is even worse. Really no puddle of water when you recalled? Maybe only little oil spilled by trucks or buses?

I skidded before on my silverstone tyres during a corner. About 70% thread left. Drizzling only, ground is wet. During the corner, I stomp the brake hard and I skidded. Lol. Saved by the curb.
I couldn't recall whether there was water or oil spill as i didn't went to the area to check... lol checking my car's crash impact was the only the thing running in my mind during that time :(

I didn't brake hard or downshift too, just released my throttle and attempted to slowly take the corner. I learned my lesson on how hard braking can lead to skidding in my last crash... lolll

If car handles well in the dry, then it is either tyre problem or something on the road at that corner. Oil and water is one of the most slippery surface. The Kerinchi link from KL have got many victims already. Buses usually spill diesel in that corner and when it rains many cars have skidded and hit the wall. I have actually seen a SUV skid in this same spot.
Coming back to you what model of Hankook tyre are you using?
Ventus, Optimo or Kinergy range?
The model is Optimo Meo2 bro. I'm not too sure whether its an all weather tyre but they certainly perform better in the dry than my previous silverstones...

---------- Post added at 02:06 PM ---------- 6 hour anti-bump limit - Previous post was at 02:02 PM ----------

Bro, don't judge things by brands. Goodyear NCT5 is shit but Goodyear Eagle F1 asy damn magnificent. Right? Give us the model, VR2 sifu can advise.

I have a hunch its you bought bad spec tyres.
Yeah bro, I thought so too. I was on a budget that time, couldn't really for good tyres. Plus 14 inch tyre choices are rather scarce..

sudah notified my tyre model btw...

Then seriously I think is oil spilled la bro. The main point is that, is your kelisa now okay or not after repaired and etcs? Do u still skid during similar corners at other areas when is wet? If no, then the higher possibility is that you were unlucky to hit an oil patch.

So far I have yet to get the chance to corner my car in the wet. No heavy rain since the day of my crash. -.-
My car is okay now I guess, cornering in the dry seems to have no issues though...

It is just like BS MY-01 calling it a sports touring tyre, just because it got directional pattern. Sports defined more to performance and touring is for normal use, so what is sports touring....hahahaha:rofl:

The Optimo MEO2 have directional pattern but being in the Hankook Optimo range are the mid to lower range. Hankook higher performance range is the "Ventus" range as in Ventus V2 Concept 2, or V12Evo, and S1Evo2

Semi Slick is defined by threadwear and compound ma.
Nope semi slick, slick is the pattern. Slick have no pattern, like bald, have some small tiny holes just to indicate the depth. Semi slick is with very little pattern.

Okayyy. Now I got you. I thought tyres are defined as eco-hp-uhp-semi-full.
Tyres alone so much to learn. Gah.

Now is entry/eco/hp/comfort performance/UHP/Max/ Extreme/semi slick and slick
Entry and eco are close but eco nowadays better on rolling resistance
H/P is mid like your NCT5, Triplemax
Then Comfort performance like Efficient grip
UHP was last time the highest range for daily use, good in both dry and wet like GY F1D5
If the tyres meet and surpass UHP, this new category is Max performance eg. GY Asy2, Conti CSC5, PSS
Up another notch you go into extreme category. Road legal but many use for track play like GY RS Sports, Federal RS-R and Advan AD-08
Semi Slick actually more for track but some are road legal too eg. Yoko A048 and A050, Toyo R888
Slick as you know have no pattern so is for dry track use eg. Federal FZ101 picture above

So ATR K Sports is legal for road use right? Is semi Slick right? Cuz many like i mention to u before keep saying is a sports tyre with semi slick pattern but not semi slick

So GY Asy2 is better than PS3 which is in UHP category instead? Shud cost more than PS3 then.

They can be right too. As I mentioned earlier on BS MY-01. Some call Sports tyre, even BS call Sports Touring, but to me touring is touring.
As for ATR K Sports could be just Semi Slick Patterned. Anyway, anyone tried and can give feedback?
Probably need bro. SF to try......

GY Asy2 is in Max category. PS3 however some cay UHP, some say Max, so is like in between. PSS then is in Max. PS3 recently reduced their prices, and GY up their so their prices could be quite close now. PS3 used tom be much more expensive....

Then next one can consider PS3? I think GT Radial would be cheaper for 17" LOL. As long perform close to PS3 and cheaper will do.

How to actually try and confirm that is semi slick or not? If skidded on wet then is semi slick? LOL!
