Amassing more than 15,000 spectators, the Top Gear Team headed to Durban, South Africa for the Top Gear Festival to make history in an attempt to be the first to successfully accomplish a double loop!
The double loop track stood 26-feet tall and weighing over 8 tonnes, it certainly looked like someone had taken some design cues from a Hot Wheels toy track; only this one allows a real buggy to make the attempt.
In attendance was none other than the comedic trio of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond who looked on with certain anxiousness as the custom-made buggy which could lock its throttle within a constant 38-42kmh in order to make the double loop possible.
Now watch as the Top Gear stunt driver (probably The Stig) guns the throttle and barrels down towards the entry for the Deadly Double Loop!
