From Hatten Square, the supercars regrouped before the convoy proceeded out of Malacca Town, reinvigorated by the rest, camaraderie and lunch.<b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b><b></b>

The awesome guys from the Royal Malaysian Police once again paved the way out for the convoy, and getting through traffic towards the southbound Plus Highway became much less stressful.

The convoy made it to Ayer Keroh toll after obtaining instructions to regroup at the next official stop; Gelang Patah R&R.

The drive towards Gelang Patah is the single longest distance before any stop, and due to it, the convoy got briefly separated. Some of the drivers opted for a slower drive (ahem!), while the frontrunners; Syed Haizir aka Botak’s team of Ferrari’s, blasted through the tarmac all the way towards Johor.

For the rest of the convoy, the drive there was rather uneventful, due to the slower pace by some of the other participants, and also due to the less regulated nature of the drive. The traffic on the highway was building up as the convoy gradually reached Johor. Many other drivers were on the overtaking lane, and that was a cause for concern because of the speed of the supercars. Some cars did not oblige to yield to the left, consequently forcing the supercars to reduce speed.

Luckily, however, the entire convoy made it to the rest stop on time, and congregated at the next official stop: Gemilang Petromart Shell station at the Gelang Patah R&R area.

The entourage were greeted to much fanfare from the station’ staff and the advance cruiser team. MC Roshan was, as usual, doing his thang, building public interest and engaging the public and Shell patrons about the convoy and Shell products and lubricants.

Patrons who answered MC Roshan’s question correctly was rewarded abundantly, with 1 million Bonuslink points. How’s that for a great prize?

The forerunners had just finished filling up their petrol as the remainder of the convoy reached the station. Some of the participants were parking their supercars at the area beside the pumps, while the rest of the guys were at the specially-erected food tent. The food there was pretty good, with cendol, some fried vermicelli and… popcorn! Who would’ve thought of eating popcorn mid-drive?

Regardless, the stop gave the drivers much needed time to stretch their muscles, relax and mix around some more.

The turnout at the Shell station was actually quite encouraging, as there were many travellers who happened to be there, as well as some locals who headed over to Gelang Patah on purpose.

Once the time came to leave Gelang Patah, the participants assembled to get a group photograph before the continuation of the journey. Next stop: Kelab Alami in mukim Tanjung Kupang, Johore!

A typical qualifying day with last minute adjustments, testing, and modifications carried by almost all the teams in the camp. While Pentagon Racing took pole position for tomorrow's race, Kegani Racing's car #36 took ninth place and car #37 took 16th. At the end of it, this is an endurance race and what matters is consistency, not all out speed. While we look forward to...
