in my opinion, don't remove it.ur engine need a ideal temp to work best.
removing it will make ur car run to cold n ur fc will went up.

"Thermostat is not just for cold starts, it is there to regulate coolant temp so that engine cylinder maintains within a temp. range for optimum combustion.

Engine efficency is at highest within certain temp range. (need to dig out my text book to remember those temp. figures)"-quoted by joeker the moderator
but it's true.

besides, it will be harder to warm up ur car in the morning... coz the water/coolant will constantly moving... thus, warming up ur car will be hard in the morning...

most performance car will install low temp thermostat so it will activate at a lower temperature....

here is my experience

driving towards KLIA at speeds of 160, temp went up to the redzone and air-cond kick off after just 5 minutes
starting up the car in the morning takes a bloody long time to heat up
was suspecting that my thermostat jammed

so go buy new thermostat for RM 25 at spare part shop
went and install it and to my horror, the previous owner of my car took away the thermostat and only left the skeleton there

after installing the thermostat, tried my luck towards KLIA again
constant 190, no problemo
temp constant at slightly below the middle bar

btw, me driving putra

i'm planning to drill out some small holes on my thermostat's body to help cooling. This way it'll allow the thermostat from ever being completely closed. it'll ensure constant coolant flow, and i'll still get the benefit of having a thermostat.

a pic of what i'm talking about.
