help me!!confuse..4g91..4g92..4g93

hii...can somebody breif me what type of car 4g91,4g92 n 4g93. My car is satria 1.6..what type of engine is it?need explanation..coz want to share my problem also but did'nt know what type of my car engine..hehehe :shot:

try use 'search' button..

4g91 = 1.5
4g92 = 1.6
4g93 = 1.8

the mentioned engine above can be found in ori. mitsu's.. all DOCH

if proton... still use mitsu engine... usuall SOCH except in putra, SGTi and PV6...

if ur car stock standard, its a 4g92 sohc....

yah 4g92 SOHC. guys what does this means - 4g13p? p stands for proton isit?

yah yah.... p stands for proton.... as for older batch protons with 4g13 or 4g15 without P... means the engine is a rebadge from mitsu without any modification done by proton engineers...

Correct me if i'm wrong. After year 2000, all proton car engine is no longer use Mitsubishi engine liaoo.. all is using LOTUS technology.. Thats why if you compare the proton engine between before year 2000 and after year 2000, you will found that is different loh..

last time Mitsubishi engine can tune and spare part can easily get replacement.. but the LOTUS 1.. very troblesome loh.. alot changes need send back to EON service workshop.. somemore the accessories part is expensive ..

4G9x series is always refer to Mitsubishi series.. our proton car engine is start with 4G1xp... if you like to know what type of your engine, you could see from your car card or insurance document...

can anyone elaborate on this... what mod. did LOTUS do to Mitsu's engine?

i did heard about Lotus involvement with Proton... in ride n handling...
but i donno wether Lotus have to do anything with the engine...

can anyone please

Lotus only tune the ride & handling for sgti & (new Pv6 i think)

They got nothing to do wit da engines....

You are referring to the injection model engines from 1998 - 2001/02 which
uses the MMC ecu & the later which use the Siemens.....

4G1X & 4G9X are both mitsu engines on different proton cars

4G13 = 1.3 engine on saga,iswara,wira,satria
4G15 = 1.5 engine on saga,iswara,wira,satria

4G92 = 1.6 sohc engine on wira,satria
4G93 = DOHC for sgti,wira,putra
4g93 = SOHC for wira

Lotus had no involvment in tuning of engines until Campro comes into pictures. Which is a callobration between lotus engineering and proton...
The previous are still on Mitshu engine but were modded and tuned by Proton themselves.....

Cozz i just confuse why the engine structure is different from previous loh..
I driving WIRA 1.5 (A) 2002.. becozz recently my RPM go very low.. so.. i wanna adjust it.. just that the mechinical told me that i need send the car back to proton service workshop to reset back with their electronic devices..

Then when i compare with old WIRA ... there are switchs which allow the adjustment.. just that my car do not have that.. it change to something very funny which need special device to reset it..

Thats why confusing...

wira 1.5 before year 2000 ppl call step 1, and year 2000 onwards is step 2. step 1 performance better thn step 2

Its the siemens ECU, after year 2000 i think.. the sucky sucky ecu
