Capristo Valve Controlled Exhaust System for Ferrari 458 Italia.
The rear muffler is designed for accurate fitting to the original connections and is completely made from stainless steel grade 1.4828. Alternatively, the original control unit for the exhaust gas valves can be used. The header is completely made from stainless steel 1.4828 and features a significantly changed pipe routeing compared with the stock manifold. The header also fits on the original mounting points and a replacement of the original manifold can be carried out without any problems. both components are supplied in combination with our new heat protection. As the 458 caused some negative headlines owing to heat problems, is deemed to be as a sign that too much heat is released from the components of the exhaust system into the engine department. For this reason a heat protection with more efficiency than the stock parts was stringently necessary for us. This piece of safety means a protection for your car. We point out that a car owner is not allowed to have the headers installed without the heat protection. Reworked backpressure valve control unit, which is freely programmable. This control unit provides the possibility to individually program the pack pressure you would like to drive in. This way, you can reach the maximum engine performance. The portion of back pressure resulting in a loss in performance is filtered out. Therefore, this controller combines all advantages in both, the lower and higher range of revolutions (rpm), since the back pressure can be exactly dosed to enable the engine to gain the maximum performance. This new control unit doesn´t have a display anymore. Instead it has control-LEDs and a RDS transmitter, which sends the values and functions to the car radio\’s display. It can be adjusted by the remote controller (key fob). You also get the software Capristo-Control-Center, by which all values can be shown and all adjustments can be done.
The system works in three languages: German, Italian and English.
a) in Cruise mode – the exhaust gas valves open later
b) in Sports mode – the exhaust gas valves open earlier
c) in Open mode – the exhaust gas valves remain open
In both, the cruise mode and sport mode, you can individually program when the exhaust valves shall open. One big advantage is that the control unit recognizes the driver’s operation characteristics. If the driver accelerates aggressively, this is identified by our device by the kind of back pressure that is generated, and the exhaust valves open immediately. Usual acceleration results in a later opening of the exhaust gas valves.
The CES-3 is able to measure GPS and g-force data. Those data can be read out by our software. This device is in permanent development. The following versions will be able to read out those data in their full complexity. So stay tuned for future software updates.
