We've seen quite a few videos on Autoblog of exotic sports cars tackling the ring, but motorcycles don't make much news here. MCN road-tester Michael Neeves braved the 'Ring back in April in a Yamaha R1 while his brother Ben followed close behind in a Porsche 911 GT3. In the wide-open, the R1 tears the lightning-fast GT3 a new one, but the Porsche consistently caught up in the twistier sections.

The 8:48 lap time pulled in by the Neeves brothers was pretty impressive considering the major traffic on the track and the two accidents that needed to be traversed. Hit the jump to check out the two-wheeled action.

now we know how fast is a superbike and how much bravery a guy needs to have for going at that very high speed......
respect!

The thing about big bikes like these is that they are hideously fast in a straight line thanks to an outrageous power to weight ratio. But with only 2 weedy pieces of rubber to keep them on the road, they struggle to maintain all that pace generated in the corners.

Agreed. 2 fingers on the right lever to feather the front brakes. Right foot to feather the rear brakes. Left foot ensuring correct gear/rpm. Buttock hanging off the side of the bike..... 1 wheel drive with both tyres tipped to their extreme sides with the rider's knees scraping the road on the inside of the turn....rear tyre constantly slipping....so many things to do n consider just for one turn....truly truly scary indeed. Sometimes I wish I had a 4wd Evo or Scooby!!!
