Cars like the Audi S5 and the BMW 435i will soon have something to worry about as Mercedes-AMG had recently taken the covers off their new C43 AMG 4MATIC Coupe. Set to make an appearance at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, the new C43 AMG sits just below the C63 AMG and in terms of power and price.
Residing underneath the hood is the same twin turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine found in the new SLC43 AMG and the C450 AMG. Pushing out 362-horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, it is paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission and a rear-biased all-wheel drive system that allows the car to accelerate from zerotohundred in 4.6 seconds before hitting a limited top speed of 250 km/h.
According to Mercedes, a lot of components from the C63 AMG have been used to beef up the chassis, including the three-stage RIDE CONTROL sport suspension with adaptive variable damping, the steering knuckles, load-bearing joints and the elastokinematic adjustments to the links. Stopping power is provided by a high-performance braking system with internally ventilated compound discs measuring 14.2 inches at the front and 12.6 inches at the back.
The looks of the C43 AMG is fairly similar to the C63 AMG aside from the slightly different bumpers, a diamond effect front grille and 18-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, the C43 AMG receives a flat-bottom steering wheel and MB-Tex/DINAMICA microfiber sports seats with red contrasting stitching.
