I have been mixing Petronas PRIMAX 97 with PRIMAX 95 all the while and I have come across from facebook.com/petronsbrands today published that PRIMAX 97 caters to those who wants POWER in their car performance, while PRIMAX 95 caters to those who wants fuel that gives more MILEAGE. Izzit true? Do we feel the differences?

its okie to mix both sir, nuthing bad will happen, at least nuthing bad has happened to any of my rides when mixing these two fuel grades..

RON97, being a higher grade fuel, allows a more aggressive tune compared to the 95. i think RON95 saves fuel and gives more km by volume jer, u know.. u get more per ringgit for the RON95, so u can go farther by having more volume

just want to add, don't confuse RON with fuel quality... RON is just a measure of the resistance of petrol to engine knocking Octane rating - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia@@AMEPARAM@@/wiki/File:Gas_Station_Pump_Five_Octane_Ratings.jpg" class="image"><img alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/0f/Gas_Station_Pump_Five_Octane_Ratings.jpg/280px-Gas_Station_Pump_Five_Octane_Ratings.jpg"@@AMEPARAM@@commons/thumb/0/0f/Gas_Station_Pump_Five_Octane_Ratings.jpg/280px-Gas_Station_Pump_Five_Octane_Ratings.jpg... as per quality are concerned, all petrol in Malaysia are the same since it came from the same source

the difference between brands is the quantity and quality of the additive added.... even RON95 from one brand might differ from RON95 from another brand...

...correct me if i'm wrong

Wanna ask though, just found out that my JB-JL turbo engine are tune for regular unleaded petrol circa RON92 ~ RON95.... As long as I don't meddle with the ignition curve of my engine, there's no need for me to use RON97 right?

yes sir, but i think its simpler to denote RON97 is a more quality fuel den RON95, dont u think so?

on ur tuning state, there isnt any need to change to RON97, for now.. lol

xtremeleo..since u have experience mixing 95 and 97..just need some help..:

1. what ratio did u mix? 50% 95 and 50% 97? or is it just by logical sense..97 more..95 a little bit?
2. whats the CR for the engine that u mix with both of the fuels?

thanks man..

i dunno what percentage sir, i just fill any which i fill like it, most of the time its the 95. i usually fill in the 97 if i have the need for speed, oh yes.. there is a significant difference between the two, of course dats if ur ecu is able to differentiate them, and set the tune accordingly.

my cr is around 9.5 jer, but an evo3([email protected]) dat have a much higher cr pun okie jer when boosting with the RON95, of course, it was tuned by joshua of millennium motorsport

Wow! high boost with high CR? thought that i worry 8.7 CR on my engine could damage it in the long run

sumtimes, cakap2 only can be a good source of info jugek, but proof is better.

a neovvl has a high cr jugek, so take note of pinging sound when booting it up sir, ur ecu may be able to adjust with the fuel RON, but in case it cant, adjust accordingly
