This is just kind of a survey. Just state your maximum price and your reasons. Also if you willing to make exceptions in certain cases like special or rare models or you love those certain rims.

Max Rm2500 for 17/18 inches and 1500 for 15/16, must be original brands (not replicas) and relatively lightweight.

Reason, because that's the reasonable price to still able to find branded original rims with good quality. Above that, not worth it anymore.

Edit: those are for used Japan rims prices. If Taiwan/Thailand, probably drop to max 2k for new ones.

RM1500 for 17" for local made brand, as long as rim design match the car. Half the price if 2nd hand.......haha

Most expensive I bought so far was the 17' Prodrive GC07 at rm2.4k if not mistaken. Cheapest was 17' AVS Model 7 at rm600. Others are all between 1-2k, mostly below 1.5k.

I think 15 inch 5x114.3 is equally hard if not harder to find, that is if ori Japan under 2k.

Relatively hard to find 15 inch light weight below 2k. Advanti costs slightly more. I am actually looking for lightweight for the myvi
Huh, where people sell Advanti Storm 15' over 2k?? I saw mostly just around 1-1.5k. Konig flow forming rims also about the same price range.

15 inch max budget 3k
18 inch max budget 5k
Also depends on design, specs and version/age of the rims.

Max i paid for RIMs are original BMW X3 18" wheels at MYR1,800, excluding tyres. I always go for original factory wheels, not a fan of after market.

Most OEM rims are narrow, that is why many change rims after purchasing the car.......

Now not willing to pay for rims already. Use factory stock rims. Rim sizes are so big now, the tyres super expensive. No point using nice rims wrapped with ling long tyres.

How I see if a person really has money or not? Not by the car they drive, but by the tyres they use. Fella driving Myvi but using Pilot Sport 3 tyres, that's a rich man. Price ratio of consumables vs car price.

Last time, < RM3k for 17" and below.

That's a dude who knows what he wants. No normal driver wants or needs AD08R. But for a man who sail corners, yup, he needs it. Imagine the rubbers sticking to the road while the entire body of the car leans over lol!

Keep balls in fridge so they won't shrink.

Bro. TitanRev change bigger no problem......hahaha

For me, still love Max or UHP category. I still love driving fast in the wet..... :driver:
I also limit to max category, not that I want to drive fast in the wet but just a good safety net for my average driving skill.

Since we are talking about tires too, which most grippy tires for size 195/50/16 for around rm200 per tire?
Wah for that low budget a bit difficult for 16', maybe just Maxxis Victra I-Pro. For 16' you need budget around rm300 to get good ones like Goodyear F1 Sport or Michrlin PS4.

Haha yeah i know rm200 is kinda low for uhp performance tires.
So far i found 3 tires. I like accelera design with 200 tw, but its hardly any shop selling and the brand is a bit unknown.
Accelera 651
Toyo TR1
Maxxis vitra ipro

Accelera are Indonesian tyres. The 651 are extreme tyres. If can get at RM200 should try them out......lol

Yours is 15", right? Rovelo extreme is the Road Racer R1. Nowadays many China makes too like Farroad X Arrow....

Rovelo is good meh? It’s from Vietnam and the company is owned by China‘s Sailun which makes one of the world worst tyres according to most report.

651 is Extreme category and I read in the reviews this tire needs quite a bit of warm up otherwise the grip is rather poor.

TR1 can get for rm200? I saw mostly closer to rm250.

If budget only rm200, I highly recommend to just downsize to 15 instead so you can get proven good ones like PS3.

Accelera is around rm230-250. Still worth it at rm250? Toyo also about the same.
If price same as Toyo, might as well get Toyo, but Toyo should be MY made now. I have tried the older T1R, cannot hold VR power, I doubt the TR1 are any better, but for NA should be okay......

Huh..people intend to replace tires only, ended up changing the wheels too...hihihi
Long run mah, 15" tyres cheap, 16" less choices and expensive especially the performance range tyres...... :driver:
I have one friend, her husband bought the ML350, came with 21" wheels, immediately ask SA to change them to 19"....hahaha
