HAI>>> is me again to ask question about car stuff here.

Every Sifu-Sifu, can somebody tell me why some car has a 7k rpm redline, but some has 6.5k rpm redline?

What will happen if I run my engine beyond this limit? Anyway to increase my rpm redline to higher point? change block? change cram?

change valve spring, retainers, high cam and remove the rev cut in ur ecu.

exactly. the ideal shift point is at whatever rpm where the powerband is at it's peak, before it starts ebbing.

a dyno should be able to determine the point, +/- 100 revs.

noob question here, does high cams push de power band towards de later rpm's?so basically it doesnt help in de lower range of rpm?

usually high cam produce peak power at higher rpm

it depends on the setup of ur engine.. sometimes pulling the extra 500rpm has is usage if the drop in power isn't that much.... it depends on the entire configuration of the car

The redline is an indicator of how high the engine can be revved without incurring internal damage. If the engine is redlined once in a while, damage would not occur but if you keep on redlining it, the internals might not be able to withstand the high stresses involved when revving to such high RPM.

Redline is at different RPM in different cars because of the difference in engine design and materials. To change the redline of your engine, you have to change the engine. Simple as that. Or change to lighter but stronger internals, like forged cranks or con rods.

About the drop in power after the powerband, if your car has a narrow powerband, IMHO, it's good to rev past a bit so when you change gear, you will be close to the powerband already instead of still lagging behind. The drop isn't much compared to the gains you will get once you're in the powerband for the next set of gears. This is totally my own opinion. Feel free to dispute it. I'm still learning too.

I guess if you get a MIVEC or VTEC and forged your internals properly, put in high cam and change ECU, you can easily rev 10K rpm without any problems and with powerband about the 10K redline as well.

hmmm...but u do seem 2 b making sum sense 2 me bro imoloq..especially bout keeping de powerband within its optimum level..cant find any reason 2 argue bout it there..
