The last time Citroen had an offering in the segment of luxury sedans was in 2012, with the C6. Now the French company is set to make a comeback with the introduction of its CXperience Concept which will make world debut at the upcoming 2016 Paris Auto Show.

Exterior

The CXperience Concept’s bodystyle is more likely a 4-door coupe than a regular sedan, I would say. It gets a rather dramatic drop on its rear windscreen, Panamera-like.

It measures at 4.85 metres long and just 1.37 metres tall, the car showcases a dynamic silhouette, with huge 22-inch wheels and a short front and rear overhang.

At the front, the concept car gets C-shaped LED headlights combined with a slim front intake to form an X-shaped element, thus the CXperience name, maybe? Moving to the rear, there’s a pair of 3-dimensional laser fibre optic tail lights that’s positioned in two C-shaped black panels that arise from rear wheel arches to the rear fascia.

Interior

Opening CXperience Concept’s suicide doors will expose a four-seat interior configuration with bright yellow upholstery. Each of the lounge-like seats are equipped with memory foam to provide unique bolsters.

The driver’s cockpit gets single-spoke steering wheel with a heads-up display panel and an enormous 19-inch touchscreen that enables the occupants to control the vehicle’s functions such as navigation, air-conditioning, infotainment and driving aids. There’s also wireless charging features located at the armrests.

The CXperience Concept comes with intelligent communication system for the occupants, where each of them can choose who to communicate with, via the twin loudspeakers with integrated bass and a microphone on the headrests.
A norm in an ultra-futuristic concept car are two side cameras instead of side mirrors, aside from front and rear cameras providing a 360-degree view for the driver. Also present is ConnectedCAM, a built-in dash cam situated near the rear-view mirror.

Powertrain

No clear details on technical aspects for now. But it is rumoured that the CXperience will be propelled by a petrol engine producing around 150hp to 200hp assisted by two electric motors (each producing 107hp) on both front and rear axles. Combined system output will be up to 300hp.

A 3kWh battery powering the electric motors can be charged in 4.5 hours using standard charging systems, or 2.5 hours using a 32A socket.

Stay tuned for the CXperience Concept’s official unveiling which is bound for Mondial de I’Automobile in Paris this October.
