Anyone use this Semi Slick tyre before ? the thread pattern is copying Advan AD08R , how would it be for daily & occasional töge ?

On wet & dry surfaces ... I'm heard that AD08R even thou it isn't semi slick is acting not that great on wet surfaces .

Thanks for any reviews

If you need extreme dry grip then extreme and semi are your answer, just drive slower in the wet. AD-08R according to some they are okay in damp condition, only heavy rain then not so good. The Rovelo are rated 180/AA/A, treadwear even lower than AD-08R which is 200 if not mistaken.

AD08R is decent in the wet for street driving, just don't expect it to perform like PS4/F1A3 during heavy wet with lots of water puddles.

Old AD08R was 180 TW, now is increased to 200.

have not use this tire before so can't comment on it. AD08R is fine on damp non puddle road, you just need to warm them up a bit before you take on them on a damp road.

Other than Rovelo, there's other extreme tires that not so harsh on the wallet, Zestino 07R (240TW or RS 140TW) are good extreme tires, The Kumho V720, this tire is a bit noisy and might gives you the sensation of having a bad wheel bearing, R1R also not too bad.

The TW or thread wear rating is just part of a bigger picture of how grippy the tire is. Those numbers are manufacture claim and manufacturer can change them without even changing the compound formula or maybe just small tweak for the sake of testing. Tires like AD08R, Direzza Z2 Star Spec (currently Z3 TW200), R1R, Federal 595RSRR, Hankook RS3 (currently RS4 TW200)..etc used to be TW 200 below but now they have like standardised to all bear TW200 but the grip was still the same as before. Is because now a lot of grassroot events or in the states SCCA events limits street class to tires rating of min TW200 so tires manufacturers like want in on a piece of the business cake and don't want to be left out. Like WRL they states TW180 and higher tires is required.

Old was AD-08, R was later model. Tyre review shows R overall slightly better, small percentage.....

Yup I heard they purposely up the TW to 200 for that reason.

I heard Zestino is even stiffer than AD08R, is it true? The price is very cheap coz made in China but not sure how good they are. I actually wanted to try R1R too but nobody sells now.

China now also plenty. Another is Farroad X arrow, the same pattern coming from a few other brands, probably same manufacturer using same pattern for a few brands......lol

Zestino is pretty good. I used the 07RS TW140 wet and dry is very good. The tires didn't aquaplane badly when I go over a water puddle at MIMC and I broke my personal best time in wet and dry with the Zestino from my previous record on V720. Sidewall is stiffer than V720.
