Proton Putra From automatic to manual change

Hi Guys,
I'm thinking of getting an auto Putra (theres one superb condition with really beautiful number #).
I am not auto fan for a car like this but I was thinking of wanting to change the gearbox from auto to manual.
After googling, there are the pros n cons of doing it and its mostly foreign reviews.
Is there anyone who enlighten me as i am willing to spend as I would like to keep the car as a classic collection.
the information i would need be in terms of longevity, specialist workshop for gearbox , reliance
and safety effects.
Please advise as this site has always provided the solutions.

First of all congratulations on choosing to get a putra
i have one myslef and i tink it is an excellent car :top:
changing from auto to manual isnt actually such a big issue
what is your location btw??

Manual gearbox will be stronger in all the aspects that you have mentioned. It would even give you better fuel consumption, only downside I can think of will be the stress on your leg when you get into a traffic jam that's so common here in K.L.. Other then that, its quite a simple modification...

Thank you guys, finally my auto gearbox broke down and now i have sent the car
to change the gearbox, puttin in a satria gti gearbox but it seems to cost 600RM more than
standard putra gearbox....is that normal?

errr..there is no diff between putra and gti GB....even n/a gsr also same.....


*maybe price diff due to GTI batch only


so pls find other GB that are better priced than the GTI one....

go for any 4g93p or T gearbox.

damnnnn, i called the mechanic and he said it cant be Putra and GTi same gearbox...
and mentioned some difference in parts in the GB...any advise my fellow Z2H

ask him the gearbox code of that gti and u can google it for yourself..

*btw...as far as i know there is nothing special in gti gearbox to differ from other mitsubishi 4g93 series GB.....
