If rust appears on body area where the parts are non removable, what can be done to it? And is rust problem related to paint job quality?

My front hood last time already got multiple rust until can see tiny holes where light can actually go through. Replaced the whole hood at the end. Your Wira is on what year? Carb or EFI?
The roof needs to be cut and replace, many have done that.
Yup, like bro fazidk and ken yeang mentioned is the glue to hold the sheet to the frame (tulang). Either corrosive or what those are the points they are rusting from.

Mine 1st Gen 1993 Carb, bought from mechanic brother 2nd hand. The thing is most rust after 3 to 4 years. Mine rust started after 8 years....:banghead:

To me, car rust is already like a car skin cancer. If any of my cars start to show rust thru the paint, I'd just patch it up then sell it off, but so far that has never happened to me yet even for my old Mitsubishis back then (1996 Lancer & 1993 Eterna, both sold off in 2007).

Wira roof I think can be removed. Can see it is not joined with the whole body like old Saga. I have also seen Evo 3 roof for sale. So, if the glue is problematic, need to peel all of them off and use a better glue next time?

1993 Wira is the one without facelift yet isn't it? The one with rear light that is very similar with your Galant.

I'll try and solve it too. Feels reluctant to sell of my car. Bought it brand new back in 1999. That time I was still in kindergarten. Today, I am driving the car. A lot of memories.

Depending on where n how extensive d rust is..eg. If on roof = replace roof,if on bonnet = replace bonnet,if doors = just replace d 'kulit'..these are d common areas of rust (at least on a Wira/satria..)

In my experience in spraying I've only done one car back in '06 (an escort mk3...x remember what year maybe 80's so u can just imagine d rust)..this one owner asked for full restoration..so had d whole body fully sandblasted til bare metal..cut out all d rust parts n either replaced them or custom made them (like d floor,firewall)..cost a bomb but I'm x sure it was worth it or x (I mean it's an old but rare car n all but d cost was very high)..anyway it made my work easy since I had a totally empty shell to work on so prep work was easy..

Anyway that was m one n only experience doing it all d way like that...it was a gr8 experience..now that I think of it I felt like those guys in Kount Kustomz (on Astro) hahaha lol

How much did that restoration cost? 20k to 30k? Since is back in 06 and today is 2016 which is already 10 years, did you hear anything again about the car now? I was sort of interested in some old cars like the 1970s TA22 Celica. Want to know more info about these restoration process and outcome.

Yup, saw a bit before but way off. Unlike the US version many things can be changed. Here they need to remove the rust and use back. Workmanship was bad and they could not finish in time if not mistaken.....:smokin:

That is quite a lot. If the rust problem can be prevented for another 10 to 20 years, that amount spent seems worth it. But if it doesn't last for more than 5 years, then it sounds very costly. Now I think restoring an old car is indeed expensive.
