It is Ferrari's most powerful production convertible right now and apparently, it's been about 50 years since a Spider featured a front mounted V12 after the 365 Daytona GTS. This brand new 812 GTS is essentially a targa version of the 812 Superfast and inherits its 6.5L V12, the same majestic 8,900rpm naturally aspirated, F1 inspired engine. Also Ferrari's most powerful V12 at the moment.
RHT - Retractable Hard Top opens in 14 secs at speeds up to 45kmh, has a separately operated electric rear screen like a clear window that can neutralize cockpit wind turbulence which enables high speed topless driving without hair slapping into face at over 200 for one, or as a sound tunnel to channel that glorious V12 exhaust music in while not topless.
Design wise, the convertible 812 GTS retains its silhouette from the coupe Superfast except that it's grown a pair of buttresses for which the RHT panel slides and completely hides into when topless mode is engaged. There's also an additional, mechanical aerodynamic flap integrated into the rear diffuser to make up for the deletion of distinct Superfast passive aero by-pass intake ducts, which used to be on the rear wheel arches.
The 812 GTS will be available for private viewing from now till 31 May 2020 at the Ferrari Malaysia Showroom
