You should try jump start then drive around to charge up the battery. I don't think it is dead, just ran out of juice since not used for 3 months.
Smell like paint? That is new. If it is heavy petrol smell, could just be heavy fuel feed, but after run for a while should be back to normal....

Okay, through my experience for jump start.
If battery is completely dead like yours, to do jump start you will need very thick cable. Sort of the 1000amp type that you will find in hypermarket.
Donor car must be started and let charge run for a while before cranking dead car.

If battery have power but not strong enough to crank, a 600amp cable might work. Forget those 200amp cable. Too thin to transfer the current....:driver:

I had this problem in my Atr last time and it was due to old weak starter. It was like weak battery with ticking sound. However after added a relay to the starter, the problem has lessen though it still happen once awhile. Ultimate fix is to get the starter replaced. Anyway, I replaced the car. Hahaha....

May not be the starter also. Like mine is new starter but like you mentioned sometimes work, sometimes don't. Is due to old wiring or ignition switch, too much resistance. Adding the relay hooks up current direct from battery mah......lol

Try to jump start but fail. Must b the cable as u said

Sometimes jump starting using cables might not work if the battery is really out of juice due to being idle for too long. What you need to do is just swap the battery (if you have another one), start the car then quickly swap the battery back while the car is still running. Then just leave it for some time or drive around to charge the old battery back.
