i guess having 6 speeds will have its advantages, if possible and the price quite reasonable i guess i too would want one.

To fully utilize the 6 speed gear box (regardless of the ratios), it's advisable to have an engine with enuf grunt first. If not convinced, just try riding a 21 speed racing bike. It's not easy to pedal the bike when using the top gear because lack of pedal power. even when you are peddling on flat ground.

6 speed gearbox might not so heavy duty compared with 5 speed gearbox.
This is because of normally ppl will reduce gear teeth thickness to gain empty space to slot in #6 gear teeth.
Unless u have total new design / gb housing to support, if not ur gearbox will not stand long.

normally ? so your telling me some poeple are already doing it ? I for one don't think it is that easy as to reduce gear thickness of each teeth and putting an extra gear in.


How would a dog engagement be the same ? totally different from a 6 speed.


i do understand that top gear might strain the engine, But u could increased the ratio of 1 - 5 and put in a 6 gear that retains the original fifth gear ratio. Now you have something that might work , not ?:hmmmm:
